Budget Friendly Celebrations of the Lunar New Year

February 5 is the official start of the Lunar New Year (aka Chinese New Year) and 2019 is the Year of the Pig.

If you were born on these years: 1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007, 2019, then according to the Chinese Zodiac, you are a Pig (we mean that in a good way). You can learn a little more about what it means to be a Pig here.

You can also celebrate the Lunar New Year in a variety of places across Southern California. Here are some events we vetted just for you. Most of these events are free (unless otherwise noted) so you can spend your money feeding your inner pig some delicious traditional food instead!
