Claremont, California is a small town (population 37,000) at the eastern edge of Los Angeles County. It has long hosted demonstrations and protest gatherings and June 14 was a doozy. Maybe 4000 people, including neighbors from Pomona, San Dimas and La Verne, turned out with signs, chants and exuberant energy. The sign holders were answered by a symphony of honking cars:
The few Mexican flags were greeted with cheers. In the hot 90 degree sun, families pulled their children in wagons, folks made sure their pets had water.
